CRT CONTRIBUTES TO OUR COMMUNITY
Throughout its forty-eight year history, the Creede Repertory Theatre has been an important contributor to the local and regional community.
CRT contributes a rich cultural legacy to the community.
CRT’s award-winning company produces the best of contemporary and classic theatre from the end of May through September. Each year CRT produces six to ten plays in rotation, hosts numerous musical events and concerts, and exhibits the best regional artists in its three lobby gallery spaces.
CRT invests in the education and literacy of our patrons.
Since 2006, CRT has hosted Audience Enrichment programs that provide an in-depth analysis of selected plays, deepening and broadening the theatrical experience for CRT patrons. The Young Audience Outreach Tour, now in its 30th year, brings professional theatre and original books to students in rural schools throughout the Southwest. In 2012, over 19,000 people benefited from our education programs.
CRT pumps over $2 million into the local economy annually.
Recent estimates by The Denver Post and J.R. Porter & Associates, Inc. calculate the state-wide impact of CRT to be over $4 million each year.
CRT shares its space.
Each year CRT provides space and support to other local nonprofits like the Creede Arts Council, the Creede/Mineral County Arts and Recreation Department, Creede Community Players and the Creede Early Learning Center.
CRT supports nonprofits throughout the state.
The CRT donates more than one hundred complimentary tickets to organizations in support of their fundraising efforts every year. Habitat for Humanity, Rocky Mountain PBS, LaPuente Homeless Shelter and Food Banks, Colorado Rural Health Center, and many others have benefited from this support.
