Play Sponsorship

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who have helped make the Creede Repertory Theatre one of the “10 great places to see the lights way off Broadway.”

Early in the 1990s, in response to the increasing costs of theatre production, Board member and then-president of Colorado Construction Arvin Van Ry initiated the Play Sponsorship Program. He believed business owners and members of the community recognized the value of live theatre in their community and would support financially the production of these works. Arvin and Marcia Van Ry led the way and were the first to underwrite a production in 1994.

Over the past 13 years, Arvin’s forethought has yielded a tremendously successful play sponsorship program that is the cornerstone of the CRT’s Corporate Partnerships. Since 1995, CRT has had more than 100 play sponsors for 76 productions. The financial contributions these businesses have made continue to keep ticket prices affordable at CRT. In addition to this tremendous benefit, the sponsors’ support is a direct investment in the economy of Creede, Mineral County and the entire San Luis Valley region.

We honor these businesses, foundations and individuals who stand out in our community as significant supporters of the arts in southern Colorado.
