In-School Artist Residencies

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein

It is the theatre educator's job to point the fish toward water.

We at CRT believe that EVERY child has unique gifts and talents. Theatre is unparalleled in its ability to help children identify, explore, and share those gifts. And, in the process, they learn to celebrate the unique gifts of others.

Elementary School Artist Residencies

Designed to support teachers’ efforts in their classrooms, these in-school artist residencies explore schools’ curricula using the transformative power of the performing arts. Along with helping children relate deeply to what they are learning in class, students will gain confidence in their public speaking skills, explore the many facets of human communication, practice teamwork abilities, celebrate their own self expression, and increase their self-esteem. In-School Artist Residencies can range from 2 weeks to 2 months and will be designed with school staff to best fit the school’s schedule. CRT’s teaching artists will work with school staff to determine the subject to be explored. Consultations for Educators

Educators interested in including the performing arts in their lessons are encouraged to take advantage of an arts education consultation with one of CRT’s professionals.
