A Note from the Board President
It is hard to express the dream that Creede
means to me. The trip up the Rio Grande Valley
always brings joy to my heart and tears to
my eyes. It is such a beautiful and magical
place. This place constantly pulls me back— and I cherish the relationships that I have
established in this community.
In the late 1970s, a teenage girl in Creede
named Cary Bush spent several summers cooking
for the Theatre, serving three meals a day
to the Company, and performing in some of
the children’s musicals with her stepfather.
Her mother, Sarah, worked in the CRT office.
A dozen plus years later, that young (relatively)
girl introduced me to Creede and to the Creede
Repertory Theatre. Over the following years,
I saw many plays and got to know many of
the Company members. Cary and I married,
and last year our ten year old daughter,
Lyric, spent the summer in Creede as a member
of the CRT Company, performing in the acclaimed
children’s show, LullabyBay.
We’ve thus come full circle, passing
on the tradition of CRT to the next generation.
I’ve come to love both Creede and
the Theatre. Each has touched a place inside
me that I didn’t know existed. I hope
that we can touch some place inside of you,
as well.
Welcome to the show!
